I did my undergraduate (Licenciatura)
studies in philosophy at the
University of Lisbon, the M.Litt at the
University of
St. Andrews
and the PhD at the
University of Stirling. I wrote
my doctoral dissertation
on
bivalence and truth-value gaps. I am a
senior researcher of the LanCog Group at the
Philosophy Centre of the University of Lisbon,
and a member of
LOGOS - Logic,
Language and Cognition Group, of the University of Barcelona. I am
presently in the steering committee of the
Portuguese
Society for Analitic Philosophy.
I am also the co-editor and the book reviews editor of
Disputatio I specialize in philosophy
of language and philosophical logic. Other areas of interest
include metaphysics, epistemology and ethics. I have worked mostly on the coherence
of denying bivalence, on truth, negation, assertion, reference failure, and (some) paradoxes.
Recently I have also been working on relativism. What's new/Novidades:
